Debut Album and Concert

Dream Rovers are putting the final touches on their debut album named “Off the Road”. It is quite possible for them to go on stage on February, even though there is still the possibility of the concert to be cancelled in the last moment, or a change in the date to occur.
Off the Road includes eight tracks written bye the singer/songwriter of the band,Erfan Rezayatbakhsh (elf), and arranged by the band.
The name “Off the Road” was chosen because the words “Road” and “country music” are kind of bound with each other, resembling the concerts and tours old country music stars held together and the nights they spent on the road, writing songs in tour buses. Besides, everyone who knows a little about the situation that Iranian bands are going through knows that it is impossible for a country music band whose songs are in English to get the permission from the government to release their album. Therefore, the one and only way for such a band to be active in the field of music is to go “Underground” and use the Internet to introduce themselves and promote their music.
Of course, this is not the regular “Road” that music bands take in most of the countries around the world. This is why the name “Off the Road” describes the Dream Rovers’ situation in the best way, as the only country music band in a country like Iran.

The road calls to those who would love to rove, and Dream Rovers are just that; rovers with dreams that are turning to reality every moment.

A letter to “Taylor Swift” “Lady GaGa” and “Byonce’”

Dear fans,

We had informed you of completion of our new song “Dear Superstar” while ago. Now I’m back with the good news of its release. With apologizing for the delay in recording it for we’ve been through some difficulties. You can listen to this song and read the lyrics on the “Songs” page. At first this was supposed to be a letter just to Taylor for her songs were too fantasy and unreal. All about breaking up with this boyfriend and making friends with that boy or telling a guy that his girlfriend doesn’t understand him like she does and things like that. While working on the lyrics it turned out that it’s not only Taylor but also it seems like some pop stars like GaGa and Byonce don’t have any clue about what’s going on in the world they are living in. so this friendly letter was written just to poke them not to list them these hardships (although some were named in one part of the song such as children porn and FGM) for I’m sure these stars have enough open view to see such things. All I wanted to do was to tell them that as Superstars who have millions of fans ALL AROUND THE WOLRD, It would be a good idea to show their living-in-misery fans that they know what they’re going through.

“Dream Rovers” Live at a concert

At last they succeeded in performing live in Sharif university which is the topmost university of Iran in world rankings. Last night Dream Rovers went on stage to perform in front of more than 300 audiences while they were accompanying with “Mohammad Shojaee” as drummer and owing to the fact that the main bass player of the band (Majid Sadeghi) was in Sweden and was unable to join the band in this performance, Makan Mahmoudi replaced him to enable Dream Rovers to make a wonderful night for the audiences. Last night performance included some their best songs such as, Insomnia, Cloudy Sky and Stutter which were awarded with the big round applause of the spectators at the end.

Back for good

Hello there fellas, elf of Dream Rovers is back with very special news. those of you who have read our biography know that my good friend and our good bass player had left the band to study for his masters in Sweden. Now the good news is, Dijam’s back to the band. Although he is still in Sweden, technology enables us to cooperate! Sadly we do not have a bass line in our new song “Dear Superstar” which we have planned to record this weekend. Sorry dude! you should wait a little ;)

“Dear Superstars” and a change in plans

Hello once more, we’re back with good news. First of all, we’re ready to record our new song which we have not mentioned in any of our posts before. Interesting, isn’t it? The name is “Dear Superstars” and as the name suggests it is in form of a letter to three superstars who I won’t name because you should find it out yourselves and of course you will when you hear the song. As for the subject of the letter, that will be another thing which is worth figuring out.
By the way, there is a change in plans. We had planned on recording “Time to Walk in New Shoes” after “Stutter” but this song seems to be turning into a big project, and hence there is a chance for it to be our last song in this album.
Well, I’d better close for now. But wait for good news and of course for the song “Dear Superstars”!

Universal player, future performance, a barrage of songs, and RSS, all in one!

I’m back with even better news than before! For one thing, the player we used to have in our songs page seemed not to be working for some browsers. Now, we’ve made it universal: it works with IE, Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari… anything you can think of (apart from Lynx, of course, which is a text-only browser in Linux).

Another piece of good news for us and our wonderful fans which grace us daily with their messages that they send to us through the contact us page, is that we’re going to perform in Sharif university, the topmost university of Iran in terms of worldwide rankings. Isn’t that cool!

Speaking of performances, our work on “Insomnia” and “Time to Walk in New Shoes” has continued. We have also started working on another song called “Maybe”, which ensures a barrage of songs from us in the near future. Whether or not this is a good thing, though, is left to you to decide.

I’m also working on getting us an RSS feed, so our six billion fans—no, that is not a real number, just put here to make you think that everyone loves us—wouldn’t have to repeatedly check our news page. Hopefully, that should be up and running in a while.

All righties, that’s all for now! Until our RSS is up and running, check out this page often!

It’s “time to walk in new shoes”, “insomniac”!

Hello there, everyone!

First of all, I am sorry for my absence. I have been nudged for a long while to tell you what has been happening, but I have kept forgetting. After all, this is what musicians do. Well, some of them.

Apart from the self-humiliation, though, there have been good news. One interesting thing is that we’re soon going to record our next song, “‘Time to Walk in New Shoes’”. This song briefly touches on the few might-be turning points of one’s life, through the different stages. It has sort of a jazz feeling to it, which is something new compared to our previous songs.

As for our next song “Insomnia”, it will be out, perhaps with less delay than there has been between Stutter and Time to Walk in New Shoes. It has a surreal feel to it, something quite closely resembling the thoughts at midnight… at the time the real world and the dream world begin to merge for an insomniac.

For those of you who are regular visitors of our website (yes, we have plenty of those, I know), you might have noticed that the download link has been removed from our songs page.

There have been new plans for the distribution of our songs, and we have come to realize that the removal of the download link from our website is a step in the right direction. You can still listen to our songs through the Flash Player, of course, but you can not download them.

Well, that is all, folks! Take care, and keep your eyes out for the next piece of news!

First Good News!

We have been quite active these days! Our website has been improving. Now we have a Farsi version of our biography, and our songs page is close to completion.

Apart from the website, we have been working on our next song, “Stutter”. It will soon be available to download in our songs page, and it will be followed by our next song that will be called “Walking in New Shoes”. It has a unique rhythm and feel to it, something we won’t spoil until you can hear it for yourself! So, check back often!
